PORTMARNOCK RESORT DEBUTS INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP FOR DREAM DUBLIN GOLF GETAWAYS
By Brian Weis
Portmarnock Resort, home of the acclaimed and recently redeveloped Jameson Golf Links, has launched an international membership offering for the first time.
Exclusively available for golfers living permanently outside of the island of Ireland, the membership includes access to the highly praised design, originally laid out by Bernhard Langer in 1995.
A multi-million-pound project to further elevate the course, including the elevation of tee boxes and greens to create even more dramatic ocean views, was completed in 2024. The new-look layout is now one of Ireland's most picturesque golfing experiences and features panoramic vistas of north Dublin's Velvet Strand and the famous island known locally as Ireland's Eye.
Another attractive perk of international membership is a dedicated concierge service to assist with bookings at other local courses, making Portmarnock Resort an unparalleled base for an Irish golf getaway. Dublin's north coast is a hotbed of world-class links courses, including the nearby Portmarnock Golf Club, County Louth and The Island Golf Club.
Paul McCanny, director of golf at Portmarnock Resort and Jameson Golf Links, said: "When you consider just how many exceptional golf courses there are in this part of Ireland, it's perhaps unsurprising that so many of our guests - including regular guests - have travelled from the UK and all over the world.
"In response it makes perfect sense to launch our first international membership, giving overseas guests a new way to make the most of our full offering. We are proud to be a place where golfers from far and wide choose to base themselves when they take that bucket-list trip to the Emerald Isle."
As Dublin's only coastal resort, Portmarnock Resort & Jameson Golf Links immerses guests in the natural beauty of the rugged Irish coastline despite being situated just 30 minutes from the city centre.
International membership spaces are limited; to enquire, please email director of golf Paul McCanny at pmccanny@portmarnock.com.

About: Brian Weis
While Brian Weis has made a name for himself in the golf world, he also appreciates the finer things in life—like a world-class spa treatment after a grueling 18 holes (or even after a casual round where the only thing working hard was his golf cart). A self-proclaimed "golfer who enjoys relaxation more than practice," Brian has developed a deep appreciation for massages that unknot his questionable swing mechanics, saunas that sweat out a few too many post-round drinks, and infinity pools with views as stunning as a well-manicured par 3.
Brian’s spa journey began as a reluctant tag-along to couples' massages and resort spa packages but quickly evolved into a full-fledged appreciation for hot stone therapy, deep-tissue recovery, and the occasional seaweed wrap (don’t knock it till you try it). Now, he seeks out the best spa retreats, thermal baths, and relaxation havens wherever his travels take him—whether it's a luxury golf resort with a five-star spa or a hidden wellness gem perfect for unwinding in style.
On SpaTrips.com, Brian shares his experiences, reviews, and insider tips on the best places to soothe sore muscles, indulge in rejuvenating treatments, and find true relaxation—whether you're a hardcore golfer in need of recovery or just someone looking for the ultimate escape. After all, what’s the point of a bucket list golf trip if you can’t top it off with an expert massage, a hot soak, and maybe even a ridiculously plush robe"
